Print campaign
Hay 2 Timbuktu
Celebrating connection, culture, and community, one tactile piece at a time.
Studio Mission: To create a series of engaging, story-driven print pieces that could be shared within the local Hay-on-Wye community and beyond, supporting the charity’s mission to celebrate cross-cultural partnership, raise awareness, and drive support for initiatives in Timbuktu.

Print with purpose
The charity wanted materials that didn’t just inform, they needed to feel human, grounded, and purposeful. From the very beginning, the emphasis was on texture, earthy tones, and cultural resonance.
Each item needed to:
- Be easy to distribute, gift, or display
- Feel authentic, not overly polished
- Reflect the charity’s values of solidarity, sustainability, and storytelling

Texture and feel
One of the standout aspects of this project was the commitment to tactile, sustainable materials. Every piece was printed on:
- Uncoated, thick card stock for a natural feel
- Recycled paper where possible
- Hand-chosen finishes that aligned with the values of environmental care and honest storytelling.
This gave the designs weight and soul, something you could feel in your hands.
The impact
The result was a set of print assets that felt:
- Honest and culturally respectful
- Warm and community-minded
- Beautiful without excess
They became not just materials, but conversation pieces, shared in local cafés, sent across borders, and proudly displayed at events.
